We recommend getting in touch with the moving company you’re planning to use 8-12 weeks ahead of when you’re scheduled to move. This should give you enough time to figure out if those movers can accommodate you when you need them – and if they can’t, you’ll still have time to find another moving company.
That being said, we know that sometimes you don’t have advanced notice about a move. Some moves are unavoidably last minute! At Frontrunner Moving Company, we do our best to accommodate those who are moving with short notice. Learn more about our last-minute moving services here.
Preparing for a move can be a daunting task! At Frontrunner, we are happy to offer junk removal services as well as dumpster rentals to help you declutter before packing. We are also happy to help you with junk removal and packing when we arrive on-site to assist with your move.
In general, to prepare for movers we recommend:
- sorting through your belongings, setting aside things you’re ready to part with and don’t intend to bring with you.
- cleaning items you do intend to have packed and moved.
- organizing and labeling what you can so we can pack efficiently and in an organized manner when we arrive.
- identifying and labeling important items, keepsakes, and irreplaceable belongings.
The more organized and prepared you are for your move, the more efficiently we can work when we arrive to help! If you’re only minimally prepared, though, we’ll help you get organized so your move can still go off without a hitch.
We recommend that you start packing well in advance of your move. Several weeks in advance, it’s a good idea to start packing up the things you don’t use on an everyday basis and going through things you may be ready to get rid of before you move. You’d be surprised at how long it can take!
If you’re a bit behind schedule and don’t think you’ll finish the packing job on your own – don’t worry! Our team of expert packers can assist you with getting the job done before your move date.
